An Indian Colonial Salver, Pit tar & Co., Calcutta, circa 1830, shaped circular, presentation inscription engraved within a broad band of flat-chased foliate scrolls, with raised and applied scroll and shell border, on panel supports, 86oz. 16dwt., diam.

The inscription reads To Horace Hayman Wilson , Assay Master Specie, to the Mint Comes. and some time Mint Master &ca &ca &ca Calcutta, This Plate is presented by the Native Officers of the Calcutta Mint as a mark of respect and gratitude, Deer. 1832.

cartouches containing flower heads and initial T, within
amorphous surrounds on basket weave ground, the gilt
openwork grill with filigree scroll design, the second by
Hilliard 6c Thomason, 1852, of rectangular cartouche
form, engraved with scrolling foliage and shells, the gilt
grill pierced and engraved with flowers and scrolling
